County Board Adopts FY 2016 Budget

The Arlington County Board today adopted a $1.16 billion General Fund Budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2016, that includes no tax rate hike while adding funding for Schools and economic development to the County Manager’s Proposed Budget.

Arlington County Honors Outstanding Park Volunteers

Don Walsh and Mary McLean, two Arlingtonians on a mission to rid Arlington of the scourge of invasive plants, were honored today by the Arlington County Board for their outstanding volunteer service to our parks. Walsh, an Arlington/Alexandria Tree Steward, and McLean, a steward of Tuckahoe Park, are the 2015 recipients of the Bill Thomas Outstanding Park Service Volunteer Award.

Board Approves $5.792 Million Loan to Preserve and Renovate 103 Affordable Housing Units

The Board today approved a $5.792 million Affordable Housing Investment Fund (AHIF) loan to developer McCormack Baron Salazar (MBS) to assist with the purchase and renovation of 103 affordable units at Clarendon Court Apartments. MBS plans to preserve all of the existing affordable units, deepen the affordability of some units and fully renovate the property by leveraging additional resources with the loan.
