The County Manager has launched a search for a new leader of the Arlington County Police Department. During the first phase of the search, the County is interested in hearing from the community.
“We value the perspective of every resident and business,” said County Manager Mark Schwartz. “We invite you to share your insights about the types of experience, capabilities, and character best suited for this important role in Arlington County.”
You can offer feedback through December 11 in two ways:
- Provide online feedback on desired characteristics and skills for a new Chief of Police.
- Sign up to participate in a virtual small group conversation, to share your insights with LeRoy Thompson, an external consultant bringing expertise to guide Phase 1 of the selection process.
Insights gathered from this first phase will help create the job announcement for the candidate search. The search and recruitment will begin before the end of the year and will be conducted by Polihire. Polihire brings experience assisting local governments here and across the U.S. in finding the right candidates for senior law enforcement jobs.
