REPORTS
ABDUCTION WITH INTENT TO DEFILE, 2021-01020061, 3300 block of Lee Highway. At approximately 10:20 a.m. on January 2, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Arriving officers located the suspect exiting a room and took him into custody without incident. The investigation determined that the victim was cleaning a vacant room within a business when the male suspect allegedly entered the room and locked the door behind him. The victim then attempted to unlock the door, however, the suspect got between her and the door and re-latched it. The victim attempted to unlock the door several more times unsuccessfully. The suspect began to touch the victim inappropriately, then removed his pants, at which time the victim was able to break a window to an exterior hallway outside with a chair and escape the room. She sustained minor injuries during the incident. Khalil Martin, 27, of Washington, D.C. was arrested and charged with Abduction with Intent to Defile, Burglary with Intent to Commit Larceny/Assault & Battery, Sexual Battery, and Drunk in Public. He was held on no bond.
WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2021-01010006, 1300 block of Richmond Highway. At approximately 12:30 a.m. on January 1, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers located a large crowd in the lobby of the building and multiple fights in progress throughout the hotel. While dispersing the crowds, officers made an observation consistent with that of a concealed weapon on the male suspect’s waistband and made contact with the individual. It was subsequently determined that he was in possession of a concealed firearm without a valid permit. Martine Neal, 21, of Dumfries, Va., was arrested and charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon and held on an unsecured bond.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2021-01030075, 9th Street S. at S. Dinwiddie Street. At approximately 9:28 a.m. on January 3, police were dispatched to the report of a disorderly subject. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was inside her vehicle and honked at the suspect, whose vehicle was blocking an exit to the roadway. The suspect then exited his vehicle and began yelling at the victim. At the request of the victim, the passerby contacted police and confronted the suspect, who returned to his vehicle and flipped up his license plate. The suspect then re-approached the victim and passerby, allegedly exposed himself and fled the area. While investigating this call, police were dispatched to another call for service involving a suspect with a similar description acting disorderly in a parking lot in the 800 block of S. Dickerson Street. The suspect was located, positively identified, and taken into custody without incident. Zachary Thomas, 32, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2020-12310050, 800 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 8:46 a.m. on December 31, police were dispatched to the report of a trespassing. Upon arrival, it was determined that an employee of a hotel located the suspect inside a room that was supposed to be vacant. Angelo Shepherd, 33, of Washington D.C. was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry.
ASSAULT BY MOB, 2021-01010038, 1300 block of Richmond Highway. At approximately 2:18 a.m. on January 1, police were dispatched to the report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined a verbal dispute occurred between parties inside a hotel room. As the two victims attempted to have the other party leave the room, they were assaulted by a group of approximately ten male suspects. The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival. Both victims suffered minor injuries and were transported by medics to an area hospital for treatment. There is no suspect descriptions. The investigation is ongoing.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2021-01010055, 300 block of N. Piedmont Street. At approximately 4:04 a.m. on January 1, police were dispatched to the report of an EMS assist. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim and two known suspects were at a residence in the area and became engaged in conversation. During the conversation, one suspect became irate and pushed the victim. The second suspect then struck the victim with a glass bottle, causing a laceration. Two bystanders were able to separate the victim and suspects, who then fled prior to police arrival. The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Officers canvased the area, but were unable to locate the suspects or the exact location of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING, 2021-01010007, 2300 block of 24TH Road S. At approximately 12:27 a.m. on January 1, police were dispatched to the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was inside her residence when she heard a loud noise and discovered a broken window. Security for the building was notified and located a bullet between the screen and double-pane window. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT (significant), 2021-01030145, 300 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 6:35 p.m. on January 3, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Arriving officers encountered two large groups of individuals actively fighting inside a business. Based upon the size of the groups and physical nature of the altercations, additional units were requested to expedite their response. With the assistance of additional units, the parties were separated and escorted off the property. Due to the disorderly nature of the involved individuals, officers were unsuccessful in speaking with them. No injuries were reported, a walk-through of the business was conducted, which did not identify any property damage, and no charges were sought.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 2020-12310042, 1900 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 7:24 a.m. on December 31, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the unknown suspect forced entry to the building and stole merchandise before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. The suspect is described as a male with average height and build. He was wearing a dark gray hoodie, black pants, a black ski mask and carrying a black backpack at the time of the incident. The vehicle is described as a gray four door Infinity sedan. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2021-01020098, 2000 block of N. Pollard Street. At approximately 2:58 p.m. on January 2, police were dispatched to the late report of an unlawful entry. Upon arrival, it was determined that an unknown suspect(s) gained entry to a vacant residence, tampered with items, and left trash and personal belongings behind. The suspect is described as a young, White or Asian male. The investigation is ongoing.
