ROBBERY, 2021-03080226, 3400 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 10:26 p.m. on March 8, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect entered a business and began selecting merchandise, then placing it in a duffle bag. An employee confronted the suspect as he exited the business. The suspect pushed the employee and a brief struggle ensued over the duffle bag. The suspect then began removing the merchandise from the bag, causing a glass bottle to break, and fled on a bike with some of the items prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a Black male in his 50’s, with gray and black hair, approximately 5’8”, 150 lbs., wearing a yellow or tan baseball cap, blue jeans, and an army green shirt. The investigation is ongoing.
RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE, 2021-03080008, 18th Street S. at S. Fern Street. At approximately 12:32 a.m. on March 8, police received a License Plate Reader lookout for a vehicle previously reported stolen out of Baltimore, Md. An officer observed the vehicle enter Arlington County on I-395 NB. With the assistance of additional units, a traffic stop was initiated. The occupants of the vehicle were initially noncompliant and were observed reaching around the vehicle and storing items on their persons, but were detained without incident. During the course of the investigation, the vehicle was confirmed as stolen; distribution quantities of marijuana were located and determined to be associated with the driver of the vehicle; and Schedule I/II and Schedule IV substances, and stolen credit cards were located in the passenger’s possession. Shonda Williams, 28, of Baltimore, Md., was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. Nicole Clifford, 39, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance (x2), and Credit Card Theft (x2). Both suspects were held on no bond.
