At approximately 3:06 a.m. on May 21, police were dispatched to the 800 block of S. Florida Street for the report of an assault with injury. Upon arrival, it was determined that the known parties, three victims and two suspects, were outside a residence in the 2400 block of S. During the dispute, the suspects brandished firearms and Campbell allegedly struck one of the victims in the head, causing a laceration. The victims were able to flee the scene and request the assistance of police. The victim was treated by medics for his injury.
During the course of the investigation, officers identified Campbell as a possible suspect. Officers located the vehicle the suspects were traveling in and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of eastbound Route 50 and N. Courthouse Road. Morales was taken into custody without incident. Campbell refused to comply with the officer’s commands and actively resisted arrest. With the assistance of additional officers, Campbell was taken into custody. Inside the vehicle, officers recovered three loaded firearms including a black handgun with extended magazine, AR-15 style rifle and a shotgun.
