ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Board has named the 20 members to the Thomas Jefferson Working Group whom it plans to formally appoint on September 16, during its 7 p.m. Work Session with the Planning Commission.
The group includes representatives from various advisory boards and commissions, nearby civic associations, Arlington Public Schools and civic representatives. They will begin meeting this month to complete the Thomas Jefferson Site Evaluation process and make a recommendation to the County Board on whether or not an elementary school should be built there. Their charge was adopted in July.
Former planning commissioner and civic leader, Carrie Johnson, will chair the group. County Board Vice Chair Mary Hynes will serve as the board's liaison. To learn more, visit the County website.
