ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department is announcing the arrest of five suspects following an armed robbery that occurred on the evening of Wednesday, August 25th. Joseph Washington, 19, of Bryans Road, MD, Jalen Dyson, 19, of Henrico, VA, Jordan Dyson, 19, of La Plata, MD, Malik Hall, 20, of Woodbridge, VA, and Taimar Smith, 20, of Washington, D.C. were each charged with Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. They are being held in Washington, D.C. pending extradition to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
At approximately 4:11 p.m., police were dispatched to the 900 block of Army Navy Drive for the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspects and victims met at this location for the prearranged sale of sneakers. During the encounter, the suspects brandished a firearm, assaulted the victims, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in a vehicle prior to the arrival of officers. A lookout for the suspect vehicle was broadcast and officers located it traveling on I-395 North as it approached Boundary Channel Drive. The suspect vehicle was stopped in the area of Pennsylvania Ave and 9th Street NW in Washington D.C. by United States Park Police officers. The five occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident.
