ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Unit is investigating a series of convenience store robberies and is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a suspect captured on cell phone image.
At approximately 7:38 a.m. on January 17, police were dispatched to the 4100 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive for the report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered a convenience store and stole beer. When confronted by the store employee, the suspect punched him and brandished a knife before fleeing the scene on a bicycle. The victim did not require medical treatment.
At approximately 11:23 a.m. on January 18, police were dispatched to the 4900 block of Columbia Pike for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered a convenience store and attempted to conceal beer on his person. When confronted by the store employee, the suspect slapped her before fleeing the scene on a bicycle. The victim was not injured.
The male suspect was wearing a gray jacket with a red stripe, blue jeans, black skull hat and gray and white sneakers at the time of the incidents. He was carrying a gray drawstring backpack and riding a black bicycle.
