Arlington County Board Chair Katie Cristol delivered the State of the County Address Thursday morning, at Crowne Plaza Washington National Airport. In her address, Cristol surveyed the County’s economic horizon, including positive trends in housing, transportation and economic development, and also discussed her main initiatives, which include affordable housing, child care accessibility, transportation, and the development of Lee Highway.

The speech was part of the State of the County & Public Safety Awards breakfast, an event is hosted annually by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. It is an opportunity for the Chamber honors public safety personnel and first responders from Arlington County’s Fire Department, Police Department, Public Safety Communications & Emergency Management, and Office of the Sheriff.
